Galleries, and live shows, and contests, oh my!

So, I'm super excited...Steve's given me the go-ahead to try and set up an art gallery at The Cinemat. There's a long, mostly bare wall in the screening room, and I want our local artists to help adorn it. Leave a reply on the site or come by the store for more information.

On Thursday we have El Olio Wolof and Timbre performing here at 8 PM. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the first band, but I got to hear a little bit of Timbre on a sample CD, and I loved them. I'm sure the rest of the show will be just as great; if I wasn't working, I'd come down and see it anyway.

UPDATE: Dave vs. Heather, Round II: Vogue-off: I am hereby inviting any other interested parties to participate in the dancing festivities. Why? One man: Nile Arena, the man with the uncanny groove. Mr. Arena displayed said groove at the last Busman's Holiday show, and I want him to join Dave and me on the corner for the Vogue-off. Of course, now that I've invited Nile, I feel compelled to say that anyone can compete. The more the merrier. Date and time to follow. Stay tuned.

UPDATE #2: I have found a mustache worthy of The Cinemat's Best Mustache in Bloomington crown. David Woodruff, of the the band The Delicious, graced us a few weeks ago, and so far he's got the most awesome 'stache that I've seen in this town. A great deal of time and grooming has clearly gone into David's mustache; he deserves the title. Will someone unseat David? Stay tuned...
